The 151 Mew ex is a 180 HP Basic with two tricks: Restart draws you back up to 3 cards whenever your hand runs low, and Genome Hacking copies an attack from your opponent's Active Pokémon and uses it as its own.

What Mew ex Does

Mew ex — Basic Psychic Pokémon from 151 (card #151 of 165), 180 HP, Double Rare.

Restart (Ability): Once during your turn, you may draw cards until you have 3 cards in your hand.

Genome Hacking — Cost: Colorless + Colorless + Colorless. Damage: —. Choose 1 of your opponent's Active Pokémon's attacks and use it as this attack.

Weakness: Darkness ×2. Resistance: Fighting -30. Retreat Cost: 0.

Which Decks Want It

Control-leaning and toolbox decks love it: Restart quietly fixes bad draws from the Bench, and Genome Hacking turns the opponent's best attacker into your attacker for a turn. It needs Psychic Energy to copy attacks, which shapes the decks that run it.

Playing With (and Against) It

Genome Hacking copies the attack, not the Pokémon — you still pay the copied attack's Energy cost, and effects that reference the original Pokémon apply to Mew ex instead. Read both cards before declaring the attack; the fine print decides games. Keep its Weakness (Darkness ×2) in mind when you choose your matchups.

By the Numbers

Mew ex is one of 12 Pokémon ex printed at Double Rare in 151. Its 180 HP ranks #9 among those 12 ex on raw bulk. The Pokémon also appears in Paldean Fates in the card data we track, so compare printings before you settle on a favorite — our comparison series does exactly that for the era's repeat stars.

Verdict: Mew ex earns its spotlight in 151 — a card with a clear job, a clear home, and a clear plan for the turns it is on the table. That is more than most cards in any set can say.
